About the Role
Kantata is seeking a highly strategic, engaging, and results-oriented Manager of Customer Advocacy & References to build and lead a world-class customer advocacy program.
This person will create the strategy, operating model, relationships, and content engine that turn customer success into meaningful market influence and measurable business impact. The program will support customer storytelling, sales references, peer-review platforms, analyst relations, campaigns, events, media opportunities, executive engagement, and customer recognition.
This is not simply a content role. It is a highly visible, customer-facing leadership position that sits at the intersection of Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, Product, and Executive Leadership.
The ideal candidate has exceptional executive presence, a natural ability to build relationships, strong editorial judgment, and the operational discipline to manage many customer commitments without losing the personal touch. They are polished but approachable, extraordinarily responsive, and deeply committed to creating value for customers, not merely asking customers to promote Kantata.
Primary Responsibilities:
Build and lead Kantata’s global customer advocacy and reference program, including strategy, processes, technology, governance, and measurement.
Recruit and develop a diverse community of customer advocates across industries, regions, solutions, and use cases.
Produce compelling case studies, videos, testimonials, executive stories, and quantified proof points.
Manage sales reference requests, matching prospects with relevant customers while protecting relationships and preventing advocate fatigue.
Own customer review programs across G2, Gartner Peer Insights, TrustRadius, and other priority platforms.
Recruit and prepare customers for events, webinars, analyst conversations, awards, media opportunities, and executive programs.
Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product Marketing, Campaigns, Events, Communications, and Analyst Relations to activate customer voices throughout the business.
Create recognition and engagement opportunities that elevate our customers and make advocacy valuable to them.
Maintain accurate customer permissions, participation history, approved assets, and reference profiles.
Measure program performance, including advocate growth, reference fulfillment, story production, peer reviews, content activation, influenced pipeline, and revenue impact.
What you bring:
Significant customer advocacy, customer reference, or customer marketing experience in B2B technology or SaaS.
Experience building and scaling a formal advocacy or reference program.
Proven success supporting strategic sales opportunities with customer references.
Strong experience developing case studies, customer videos, testimonials, and event speakers.
Experience managing programs for G2, Gartner Peer Insights, TrustRadius, or similar platforms.
Exceptional executive presence and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior customer leaders.
Outstanding interviewing, writing, storytelling, and presentation skills.
Excellent program management and extraordinary attention to detail.
A reputation for responsiveness, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through.
The ability to balance urgent business needs with thoughtful stewardship of customer relationships.
Experience using CRM, reference-management, project-management, and reporting tools.
How we measure success:
A growing and engaged community of customer advocates.
Strong advocate coverage across priority markets, solutions, personas, and use cases.
Faster and more relevant fulfillment of sales reference requests.
A consistent pipeline of high-quality customer stories and proof points.
Increased volume, quality, and recency of peer reviews.
Meaningful customer participation in campaigns, events, analyst engagements, and awards.
Measurable influence on opportunity progression, pipeline, and revenue.
An advocacy experience that customers value and internal teams trust.
